Projects
AideRSS is an intelligent assistant and an information filtering solution for all things RSS. Running on a distributed platform (EC2), it monitors and collects data about every blog post, finds the good stuff, and delivers it to you. Written in Ruby, it was conceived in a fit of angst at the sight of my overloaded RSS feed reader. Give it a try, it may become your best friend.

Graphics World is an educational, user-driven tutorial portal. A direct extension of my interest in graphics, it first came online in 1999 and has evolved through numerous iterations to become what it is today. In its latest incarnation, it is powered by Ruby on Rails, and acts as a testing grounds for a number of machine learning algorithms - an interest of mine.
Mazda 6 Carputer
Custom built/installed computer in my car. Powered by a miniITX VIA Nehemia (1GHz CPU) this was my summer project two years ago. The carpentry, the wiring, sound proofing, etc. was all done by myself over a course of 4-5 weekends. So now of course, you're asking yourself... why? Well, how about, my mp3 collection with me, GPS navigation, DVD/DivX, games, etc. all at the touch of a button. Oh yeah, it's a touch screen in the front.
UW Wireless Login Applet
This is a small application I wrote to automate the sign-in procedure for the UW (University of Waterloo) IST network (wireless, wired, doesn't matter). It auto senses when your computer acquires a UW IP address and sends a login request to authenticate you on the UW network, you will only see msn-style popups to let you know when the process is started and its results. The login server is determined automatically which allows the program to work anywhere on campus.
Last Amazon Review (WordPress Plugin)
This plugin 'scrapes' the Amazon web-site and retrieves the latest user specific Amazon review, thus allowing the user to preview it on their blog. The plugin comes with ready to use Hemingway Block/K2 Module and widget support for themes which allow the use of widgets. Drag and Drop installation and fully operational administration panel for WordPress make the installation a breeze. You can see the plugin in action in the bottom right corner of this page.
