Season’s Greetings!

Happy Holidays! It's always nice to take a couple of days off and enjoy this time of the year with your family. For a brief moment you can forget about that amorphous pile of 'stuff' we call work. Good food, good times, great presents - it can't get any better.

9rulesSpeaking of presents, I received two of them early this year! First, as the leaf logo on the left implies, yours truly is now part of the 9rules network. I'm really excited to join their community; I've been a fan and a frequent visitor for a long time, and now I'm a part of it! If you haven't already, I strongly encourage you to check out 9rules blogs, you'll find a plethora of raw, uncut and downright brilliant content. I'm looking forward to pitching in my two cents to the cause!

My second present came earlier today in the form of a simple link. Chris Anderson, the author of "The Long Tail : Why the Future of Business Is Selling Less of More" (which I'm a big fan of) posted a link (point #5) to my post on Dissecting the Netflix Dataset. Back when I had my hands dirty with the Netflix data I explicitly remember having the thought: "I bet Chris Anderson would find some of these results interesting, I should fire him an email." By the time I was done, it slipped my mind. So it was a very pleasant surprise earlier today to find my post make it to his blog.

On that note, I would like to welcome all the 9rules members to my site and wish everyone a wonderful holiday break!

Update: Wow, I got a mini library for a Christmas present! Wohoo!
