Should the links in the sitemap, point to static html pages.?I.e. In your example one of your links can be "www.xxx.com/posts/6". This is a dynamic page. Then how does google reveal the content displayed by this show?

Michal: Save your sitemap into sitemap.xml and keep it at the top root of your site (in your public folder in rails). And yes, other search engines use the sitemap as well, so it will help with your SEO in general.

Great tutorial.
Yet what should I do, so google will get it. Where should I keep the output?

and another question, is this good for other search engines?

I wrote a sitemap rails plugin that will generate a sitemap.xml from sitemap.rb whose format is very similar to routes.rb. The home page of the sitemap plugin is http://github.com/flyerhzm/sitemap/tree/master

Tip: If you have layouts that want to render, messing up your xml view, you can set 'layout nil' on the second line of your sitemap_controller.
