Almost done, in Warsaw
So here I am, near the 'end'. Sitting in a hostel in Warsaw killing some time before my evening train to Minsk. Going to spend a week with my grandparents and then back to Frankfurt (26 hour trip by train) to catch my plane and get back to Canada!
If only it was all as easy as it sounds.. It's going to be a fun little trip over the border here. New Belorussian regulations, really picky customs and anal retentive system of passport control awaits me later tonight. Hopefully they wont go nuts about the dual citizenship. I bet they'll try to pull some sly ones on me, but that remains to be seen.. Anyway, one way or another I'll get to Minsk, getting back out might be a fun exercise too.
But anyway, its been great past few weeks. Last time I wrote anything in the blog we were still not even midway through our trip! Italy was great, besides a few mishaps with credit cards, air conditioning on the trains and general Italy attitude of 'meh', it was a great country.. Rome definitely left a big impression, not to mention Venice (though 3 days was probably 1 day too many for that city). Austria (Vienna specifically) was a great change after two weeks in Italy, Budapest surprised us with great views and atmosphere and Prague left a great impression as well. After all that, Dresden and Berlin came out to be a little tedious, probably due to the fact that the previous cities kept getting better and better all the time. :)
Spent some time wandering around in Warsaw today, nice city (though I've already been here probably around 5 times) so its nothing new. Just killing some time before my train now.
More on my train ride to Minsk after I get over the border.
Thats all for now.
Ilya
